Growing the Family: MyCrypto joins MetaMask 🦊💙

Lots happened this month! We grew our family by welcoming the MyCrypto team, met our community at ETHDenver, provided new features to MetaMask to make it easier to buy tokens, enhanced our gas UI on Extension, and delivered the ability to turn your phone into a hardware wallet with AirGap. Read on to learn more!  Growing the Family: MyCrypto joins MetaMask 🦊💙 This month, we were joined by MyCrypto. MyCrypto is an Ethereum interface that was initially established back in 2015. We’ve been close to the team for a long time and couldn’t be more excited to join forces to create a more extensive and secure experience across our products. Read more about the acquisition here.    What's New In MetaMask Buy Crypto Across More Networks Using MetaMask To make it easier to fund your MetaMask wallet, in addition to buying ETH on Ethereum, you can now buy assets that are native to Polygon, Avalanche, Binance Smart Chain, Fantom and Celo as well as a variety of stable coins across these networks. Click to Tweet Fantom and Celo are currently only available on Extension, but will be rolled out across the Mobile App soon.  Binance Smart Chain, Polygon and Celo are currently not available in the U.S., but Polygon and Celo will be available to purchase in the U.S. soon.   Speaking of buying crypto, some exciting news for our users in India: buying crypto with Transak in India is re-enabled!  Enhanced Gas UI for EIP-1559  After we supported EIP-1559 at launch in August of last year, we listened to feedback and had a look at how we could improve the experience of setting gas fees. And with that, we have now launched the an enhanced gas UI which includes the following changes:  You will now be in the company of 🐢, 🦊 and  🦍 which represent the low, market and aggressive gas estimation settings respectively.  We simplified how to customize the Max Base Fee and the Priority Fee. No more math required to calculate the Max Fee. Hooray! 🥳 You can now set “Advanced gas fee” as your default option and it remembers your last set values to better support users who want to use their custom gas strategy. This means you can strategize for an incoming gas war and approve with a single click. Note: The enhanced gas UI features are currently available on Extension only (coming to Mobile App soon) and is off by default for now. You can toggle it on in “Settings > Experimental”. AirGap Wallet Integration Turn your (old) phone into a hardware wallet. Using AirGap, you can now link the AirGap Vault to MetaMask and use it to: Check your balance for all tokens Sign transactions Interact with dapps Buy, sell, and mint NFTs If you want to learn more about MetaMask’s hardware wallet integrations, make sure you read this.  Our Knowledge Base Got A Refresh Our Knowledge Base just got a fresh look.
